When you first begin to nurse you will probably have sore nipples from the nursing. After you are done during have a cup of tea and after you have made the tea…put the tea bag in the ice tray in the freezer just for around 40 seconds to a minute. Then put the wet bag on your sore nipple and cover it with a nursing pad under your bra. Leave in on for around 5 minutes while you take a few precious minutes to enjoy that cup of tea and you will find that you will not be sore and it will actually help heal your nipples. If you are breastfeeding be sure to talk to your doctor about supplements you should take. My doctor renewed my prescription for prenatal vitamins to be refilled for a year. Breastfeeding takes a lot out of you physically so you want to make sure that you have the proper supplements to accommodate your completely changing body! I did not know this with my first daughter and after I had her I just stopped taking the prenatal vitamins but after I had my second daughter I took them for quite a while! The prenatal vitamins you also know are ok while you are breastfeeding because you used them throughout your pregnancy! Filed under: Breastfeeding ![]() Comments: 1 Comment |

You most definately can become pregnant while breastfeeding. My good friend became pregnant 2 months after she had her baby while she was breastfeeding! Bottom line is…fertility and pregnancy is not an exact science and everyone is different. So if you do not want to get pregnant then either use protection (condoms are really your only option if you are breastfeeding) or don’t have sex. If you want you can take the chance on the other methods – Coitus Interruptus, they rhythm method, counting your cycle days, or basil temperature method. Here is a great product that I have come across for nursing mothers…it is a nursing pad that conforms to you and not your bra. The site is called LilyPadz. You can get 2 for $25 with the shipping which sounds a little high but if you have ever nursed before – the leakage problem can be quite embarrassing and this is said to eliminate the leakage problem. The testimonials are quite good…I have my doubts but I think if I have another child I may give this a shot because I had so many clothes that were ruined because of the breast milk leakage stains. There is a long list of FAQ you can read up on to about his product. This product is said to eliminate having to wear that nursing bra at night and if you have a nice dress that you have to wear for say a wedding this would allow you to wear it better without having that bulky nursing bra underneath. They are clear and made of breathable silicone and one pair is said to last a good 2 months. It is quite interesting – check out the site! Ok – weening is harder than I remembered. With my first daughter it wasn’t a problem at all – she just stopped and that was that but with this one man oh man ….this is just going to take a a little longer than I had hoped. And I just can’t take the crying so I always give in and nurse her! I have to stay strong tonight – but I have to work in the morning…that is what does me in!
