I have always been fascinated by this topic. It just is so fun to take those silly quizzes and do the ridiculous tests to see if you are having a boy or a girl. There are so many gender predictors out there too!

Some of the most popular tests I have come across and have done are:

*Heartbeat Predictor
*The Whelan Method
*The Shettles Method

Old Wives Tales:
Craving sweets…Must be a girl! Craving salt…You’re having a boy! Severe morning sickness…It’s a beautiful girl! Very active baby…It’s a bouncing boy! Carrying high…It’s a girl! Carrying low…It’s a boy!
Diet: It has been said that if you want a boy: the mother should eat foods high in potassium and sodium, also lessen her intake of calcium and magnesium. For a girl – eat the opposite; the mother should eat foods high in calcium and magnesium and avoid foods that are high in sodium and potassium…GOOD LUCK!!

I don’t know if these have any truth to them – but it’s fun to try to guess the baby gender! But as long as he/she is healthy – that’s all that matters!! Comes see my other blog on the Shettles Method of Gender Prediction.

Baby Registry

My sister is having a baby in 2 months and she is currently working on her baby registry. But you just can not find everything that you want at just one site. AmazingRegistry.com has just been revampt and it looks so good. What I love about this is that they so many of the most popullar sites for baby gifts…Kohls, amazon, baby’srus, JC Penney, Baby Earth and Burlington Coat Factory to just name a very few. This is fabulous because you can find everything that you want between all of these sites and it is a ree service besided! This really does make it a truly amazing registry.

It is like combining a bunch of registries from the stores that you chose into your own registry website that people can then go to and get the items off of that site. No one should have to be limited to just one store like that and this just makes it so much more convenient. If you are pregnant or know someone that is then this is a must see site that would be fabulous for their lists. And it is very easy to use and sign up for. This is really a no brainer site to register on…and it is so much more fun to have a registry that has EVERYTHING you want!

H1N1 and Pregnant Women

The CDC says that pregnant women, who have flu symptoms, should see their doctor as soon as they notice these symptoms. Symptoms include sudden fever, sudden cough, in addition to the other symptoms. These other symptoms could include headache, tiredness, chills aching muscles, limb or joint pain, diarrhoea, upset stomach, sore throat, runny nose, sneezing, and loss of appetite. Pregnant women are moving to the head of the line, for flu vaccine. This is because if pregnant women become infected, they are more likely to suffer severe symptoms. At present, in the US, 266 people have died of this influenza, of thoes there were 15 pregnant women. That accounts for 6% of deaths, but pregnant women make up only 1% of the population.
It has been long known that pregnant women have been at increased risk for seasonal influenza. The vaccine protects not only the mother, but also the baby.

I love to look at all the gender predictors out there on the Internet. I mean you really do have to take it all with a grain of salt but they are fun to take. I would never spend any money on something like this but the free ones are fun. Here are some great sites:
