My family just loves pasta - in fact I swear it is all we eat sometimes. I am not the best of cooks and I really do not like cooking but I definately do not like cleaning up the mess - especially when you have to clean up all the spaghetti stuck to the side of the pan. Here is a tip I just learned - a a little salad oil when you boil the pasta and it won’t stick and it won’t boil over. It really stinks when you boil over pasta because it does leave quite the mess on the stove. I tried this tip and it really did work! Filed under: Super Household Tips Comments: None |

Here is a cool little household tip for you all. I do not know about you but sometimes I forget to get that furniture polish at the store…so what do you do in a pinch…get some stale/flat beer. Put a little on a soft and clean rag and polish your wood then dry it off with a clean and dry cloth. It should make your furniture sparkle. Have yet to try this one…but I will next time I run out of polish Filed under: Super Household Tips Comments: 1 Comment |

OK - I know this is a disgusting subject - but when you child throws up on a bed or a couch or gets it on any material it really stinks! And you can wash it and try to mask it with febreeze but it is still there. The only way I have successfully gotten the stink out of vomit is Baking Soda. If it is a fresh mess then clean it up and sprinkle baking soda on it and rub it in gently. Then just vacuum it up when it dries. If it is a spot that has already dried make a baking soda and water mixture and work it in. Let it dry and then dust it off or vacuum it off. It really works! Keep you kids bath toys clean. If you let them sit in a small puddle of water after the bathtub has drained they are going to get slimy and eventually full of mold or mildew….gross. Get a plastic basket to store them in that has holes in the bottom of it. Or get a plastic bag and put holes in the bottom and after you put all the toys in it then hang up the bag on the tub faucet so that it can drain. Don’t let your kids play with gross and slimy toys. Just because they are in the bath doesn’t mean they are clean! Filed under: Super Household Tips Comments: 1 Comment |
