I can not believe that school is just so close…right around the corner. The month of August I think is one of the fastest months of the year. I don’t want school to start personally. I like doing things and I just don’t want school to start. The weather is going to start getting colder and it is going to start getting darker earlier now. I know that it sounds terrible but I just can not stand it when my kids get gifts that they will never play with. Or just play with for a few minutes…where do I put all this stuff. It is cute but there is just no place to put toys that I know they will not play with. There are too many toy boxes in here and they are all full. Well, it is the end of the Summer…I don’t want it to end and I have been trying to convince my husband to just take a week out before the kids start school again. We hardly did anything this summer and it really stinks. I would just love to go somewhere just to get away with the kids and have a little fun that is not in the house or down the street at the park. And the resorts in Wildwood NJ just sound so nice. And they have weekly special that Morey’s Piers offers. That place sounds like a great place for that New Jersey Vacation! There are so many parts of New Jersey that are over looked and that are really very nice and are great for a vacation. And I just love going to the beach. We didn’t go at all last year and we haven’t gone yet this year. My kids love the beach too – they love to play in the sand. I had gotten my daughter the game Sequence when she was little and it was a game we would play for hours every day. I had to put it away one day because I just couldn’t take it anymore!! We played it everyday for at least a year I swear. It is a cheap game too – but cute until the 10th time in a row!! Well, my 2 year old loves it. We are not exactly playing it by the rules yet but she is really like the rules we created for it. This is a great gift for any child I would say from 3-6! I don’t care what anyone says…you can spoil a baby. I refuse to walk my baby around 24/7 – I did that with my first child and it just plain sucked. I would rather hear him cry for 10 minutes than walk around with him for an hour for him to fall asleep. I just am not doing it. And my husband gets upset…too bad. Have him pick him up. I love to read Reader’s Digest. My grandmother always has it in her house and I am always reading it when I go there. In fact when I read or see a Reader’s Digest I just automatically think of her. So the question is though…Are You Normal or Nuts? I am nuts…my husband tells me that every single day but I think all mothers are a little out of there mind….because of their kids! My kids make me nuts We are all a little nutty…my family is nutty that is for sure. In fact I basically inherited my nuttiness from my mother. Ever read the Reader’s Digest Laughs – they are quite funny and comical. Check out their article to see if you are nuts or normal. I just hemmed my husbands pants and now there are the old hemlines that just look horrible. No one else will notice them or even care for that matter but I know they are there and it just really bothers me. So here is what you do if you have the same problem. Dip a rag in vinegar and water and but the damp rag under the article of clothing with the hemline problems. Then iron and it should make them disappear. I just tried benefiber and it doesn’t quite look as clear as the commercials make it out to be. And not only that but it tastes rather horrible. I would rather get my fiber from some place else. I called to see if something was wrong with the one I got and they said it should be completely clear but I don’t know – I was a little grossed out. When it comes to getting gifts for my in laws it is very difficult because they have everything and they really don’t ever seem to actually need anything. So come Christmas time or birthday time it is just so hard to find something that they don’t have that they will actually like. I was reading that some schools are going to do a 4 day week and make the days a little longer on the other days to cut expenses for gas for the school busses and for the heating of the school and electricity cost. I guess they will be saving 65,000 a year by just having no school on mondays – or in some cases it is every other monday they have a day off. That is actually a good idea. My kids will be having peanut butter and jelly that I will be making – I can not afford the school lunches especially for what they actually get! If you have that online business then you have to have certain things like great ecommerce software. If you baby likes pacifiers then you have to get a pacifier thermometer for them. this was by far the easiest way to have to check my babies temperature. No fussing or crying. I just replaced this thermometer with the one she had in her mouth and that was it. My sister is getting married tomorrow. We are really hoping that the weather holds out because it was pouring rain today. And her wedding ceremoney is outdoors! There is just so much to do for a wedding. My sister actually wishes that she had eloped instead. I think that many couples thing that after they decide to have that big wedding. And her wedding is not all that big but there is just so much to go into it from the dress to the cake to the place to the photographer….the list just goes on and on and on! Personally, I think I like Desitin best out of all the diaper rash creams that are out there today – I have tried 3 or 4 but Desitin has always seemed to really do the trick with my babies. Here is something to remember though. Do not use creams that have methyl salicylate, benzoin tincture, camphor or boric acid in them – they could be harmful to your baby. Personally, I think that the lighting in a home is just something that can make all the difference in the world. And different rooms call for different lighting. Like their has to be that vanity light in the bathroom or perhaps if you are lucky enough to have a little vanity table for your makeup. I always liked those things. And then there are the lights for the outdoors…the Outdoor Lighting Fixtures like the flood lights and the door lights. And I think that if you have a dining room Chandeliers are just the perfect choice for it. I love chandeliers and always have. I would love to have one but I just do not have anywhere to put one without bumping into it. And I like the track lighting for living rooms – that is always nice but I have the ceiling fans. Those are nice too because they get the air circulating on this hot days during the summer. And if you change the setting they are suppose to help keep the heat closer to the floor in the winter….although I don’t think that really works. I don’t like this time of year because it is hot during the day and it is just so cold it seems at night so then you get a cold and that is just no fun having that cold. So my sister is getting married. It looks as though everything is a go. For a while we were worried. We didn’t think it was going to happen or we all thought it was going to be postponed. The thing about painting is that it seems like a great idea and for the first 5 minutes it is a lot of fun because you get an idea of what the color will be. But after that it just plain stinks! I hate to paint and every time I take on a project I only rembmer after I have started and when it is just too late. I just love looking at new products and appliances and things for the home. I love to shop for my home and get things….whether I am just adding things to a room or completely redecorating one…that is just so much fun. But it can be hard work especially the kitchen. That is a difficult room to redo but it is well worth it in the end. Sometimes the simplest of things can really make a difference in a room like traditional taps to replace your old fixtures in your bathroom or kitchen. Truerooms.com is a a great site to check out. I am actually doing a project…well I am not doing it but I have hired someone to do it and when it comes to certain things like Precast Concrete you want to make sure that you have someone that knows what they are doing. You do not want them to screw up something as important as for example….Precast Concrete Septic Tanks. My parents septic tank went this summer…it is costing them a fortune to get it fixed and I told them to look around to get the best price out there. It was not to the point of the back up in the yard but I think 1 month with all the rain that we have been getting .. it would have just been disasterous! I am always looking for new things out there that are nutritious as well as just very tasty. I can not stand those products out there that are supposedly good for you but they taste like cardboard…and those are the good tasting ones! I am looking for the best protein bars and healthy snack bars out there that I can put in my lunch or just snack on in the middle of the day without having to worry about gaining a ton of weight like that Cream Puff would do! I can not believe the oil prices. I had nothing left in the oil tank and I had to fill it. It cost me almost $1200 to fill my tank. That will last 3 months. I turned to my 2 year old daughter and said – “you’re getting oil for your birthday” and she said “cool” because she didn’t know what I was really saying. That is just horrible. Why does the middle class always have to stuggle the most. I work my ass off and I can not even make ends meet. It is just horrible and it is just going to get worse. I can not afford $1200 in oil and you know it is going to get higher and in the winter I will need it more. What are we all going to do? I have to heat the house but at the same time I will have to still clothe them – I don’t have handme downs from other relatives! And my oldest can not go to school in her clothes from last year…they don’t fit! And as far as my baby is concern – I can not give him his older sisters clothing! There are sites out there that have very nice and affordable clothing…infact Designer Baby Clothes. Online shopping is so much better than going to the pricey stores. It is just so fun to watch a baby try to crawl and get around. My baby is like a fish out of the water. He flops and then moves and t hen flops again. He really does get around. It is just so funny but none of my kids did that traditional crawl that you see on tv or that you read about. I have a frog problem. When ever I open my basement door which is a way we usually go in and out I have a frog come in my house. They are everywhere and outside they are fine but inside they are creepy. I don’t care if they are baby and little frogs…I don’t want them in my house. So my baby is doing the crawl crawl flop as I like to call it. He is more of a scooter. He gets where he wants to god but he is not crawling all of the time. Sometimes he scoots and sometimes he just rolls and rolls. But he gets around that is for sure. My daughters never crawled they just started walking when they turned one…almost to the day! Personally, I just love grandfather clocks. My grandmother has one that I just have always loved and my parents have one and now my in laws just got one and I am so jealous! I want one too…they are just so incredibly pretty and are just such a nice addition to a room whether it is a living room or a dining room or the family room. There is something about a grandfathers clock that really dresses up a room. There are just so many to choose from too especially if you go to 1-800-4clocks. This site has a huge selection of grandfather clocks as well as other types of clocks too. I just love the ones that have the curio cabinet in them. It is like having two pieces of furniture in one! So I went to Sears today and I know exactly what I was looking for and all about the product. So I brought my kids and went to the store to wait and wait and wait…apparently I wasn’t worthy enough or something to wait on. I finally get someone that barely speaks English..very frustrating start. The guy was incompetent and didn’t know his way around or anything that he was talking about. It is just so hard to find a real wood bookcase. I just need a small bookcase but I don’t want that cheap stuff that peals off that looks like wood. And those are expensive too – they look like crap – they are not real wood but like particle board. Total junk and it looks cheap…I don’t care how much you pay for it it is cheap looking! So, my daughter had her first pimple this summer. She was horrified and didn’t know what it was. I didn’t have the heart to tell her that if she has skin like me she will have many breakouts throughout her life! But now a days the acne treatment that is out there really do work. I remember having to put that clearasil on and I would walk around my house with all these white dots on my face. My brother use to kid around and want to play connect the dots on my face! There are much better products out there that really work and clear up your skin beautifully. So I am hopeful that she will have nice skin. My sister is in her 30’s and she still gets breakouts like she was 14 – I think adult acne is even worse then teenage acne because you think that that part of your life should be over! Time to get away!! Call Grandma because it is time to go away with the husband and spend some quality time together. Talk about things other than the typical stuff. Just relax and have some adult fun. Go out to nice restaurants and see some great shows. Or just just go on a beach and have a nice drink and not worry about anything just think about what drink and cocktail you will be ordering up next as you sit on the sand by the ocean water! These all inclusive resorts are fabulous to and you can find so much information about them at Super Clubs. They have great adult vacations that I think every mom and dad should go on every couple of years or so. I mean the though of going to negril jamaica is just so cool. I just do not understand why come a certain time at night I just want my time. I never really understood why my mom would get so upset at me and my siblings when we wouldn’t get to sleep and we would be up playing in our beds till all hours of the night but now I do. I just can not believe all the cases that are out right now about how people are stealing credit card information from computers and taking their accounts and identities. It is just crazy! Maybe it is time to start looking into a program like lifelock. This way it can help prevent and detect identity theft and any weird activities that may be happening to your accounts. There has been over 9 millions victims reported each year and I think this year it will be doubled! Sure the Department of Justice is coming down very hard on these criminals but that just is not enough. You want to feel safe and secure in using your cards for payments and not have to worry about that criminal outside hacking into the computers. It would be terrible if you identity was stolen…what would you do? I can just imagine everything being a complete and total mess not to mention that it messes up your credit and anything that you may want to do in the future. I just love this glitter glaze I got. It is just so subtle but gives something that little sparkle and shine…it is so lovely. I just finished painting my daughters bedpost and she just loves it!! Can you believe that it is already August and all of the school stuff is out but not only that all of the Halloween stuff is out too. I don’t even want to start thinking about Halloween Costumes but my kids actually saw some in a store and they got all excited about it and can not wait to get theirs this year. I don’t want to even think about it actually because that means the summer will be done and the winter months will be upon us once again. I just don’t like winter so I won’t think about it
What I did find very interesting and so did my oldest daughter was the Halloween costume history. I went to Teacher Link and they have a great site that is super user friendly and this was really cool. My daughter was very intregued by the whole thing and when my husband came home she told him all about it because she loves to read and she remember everything that she reads…well at least things that really interest her I got to thinking about costumes as well….my husband would love me to get some sexy halloween costumes. But he would not want me to wear them on Halloween but rather any time of the year. Some of them are really fun and cool looking. Maybe I’ll get one and give it too him for a gift. That is only if he wears a sexy costume too…that would never happen that is for sure. Just something to think about with these up coming holiday months that are quickly upon us already again!
